SERENITY NOW
We all know the AA prayer, right? How can we all use it? Basically what are you stressing over that you can’t change? What are you accepting in your dog that you don’t have to accept?
WALK THIS WAY
Walking a dog can be a mixture of fuss and frustration. But you don't have to give in to that vibe. Here are a few ways to start improving your technique.

GIVE LIKE YOU MEAN IT
Don’t think about what you want to give. Think about what they want to receive.
STARTING ON THE RIGHT FOOT
The first few steps of a walk can be really important. In fact, you can go back even further than that.
FIRST GLUTEN, NOW THIS?!
Is your dog attention intolerant? Does she have a sensitivity to prolonged exposure to smooching? Is there such a thing as an allergic reaction to baby talk? Consider this.
SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE
It feels natural to give up and fret when your dog lunges and barks at other dogs. Hooooowever, this isn't the way it has to be. You gotta do the work.
TWO'S COMPANY
Three can be too much, especially on leash. “Socializing” is great, but don’t feel pushed. Sometimes, all your dog needs is you.
PLACE OF PEACE
What's so great about the "Place" command? It's not just a tool of convenience. It can be a bedrock for your dog's mental health.
WHAT DO THESE HAVE IN COMMON?
You can probably solve my riddle pretty quickly, but can you embrace the answer in real life? Consider trying, because it’s the secret to making your life and your dog's life beautiful.
FEEDING FRENZY
Food is exciting, but is it too exciting for your dog? Frantic behavior doesn't usually come from (or lead to) a good place. Nurturing calm in a dog is a process that has daily value.
**PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS WITHOUT THE GUIDANCE OF A PROFESSIONAL.
DID YOU KNOW YOU HAVE SUPER POWERS?
You have them right now at this moment. It’s probably not what you expect, but seriously you can do this!
ON THE TOWN!
Churro and Molé both have histories of going nuts when there's anything happening. We've worked on dealing with impulses - getting the concepts of boundaries and calmness into their vocabulary. We've been ratcheting up the distractions. Now we get to take them to a busy book store. Let's see how they do.
INCONCEIVABLE
So when you stroke your anxious dog, does it mean what you think it means? Before you comfort with petting, think of this.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Someone knocks at the door. Your dog goes nuts! Before you scold the dog, before you get the door, take a minute.
RESPECTING YOUR DOG'S SPIRIT
How do you respect a child’s spirit? Do you let him do anything he wants? Is that respect? Does it build stability, closeness, awareness, fulfillment? What about your dog? How do you give her what she really needs?
